‘The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard’: What it’s about, release date and more about the movie with Salma Hayek

Hard to Care is an action film released in 2017 that suddenly felt more commissioned by the Lionsgate studio than by actually wanting to generate a franchise. It had a great cast undoubtedly, nominees and Oscar winners and experts in the superhero genre. All this obviously spiced up with a lot of comedy in large part thanks to Ryan Reynolds. Few saw coming that a sequel could come out of this, but now it is a reality with Duro to Care 2 (Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard) and our compatriot Salma Hayek is the one receiving the attention for this installment.

A detail to mention is that in the previous installment the role of the Mexican actress is extremely charming and fun, but small. Now, she leads the criminals, played by Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson. The film was slated for release in 2020, The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard but was affected by the pandemic and the ever-changing schedule of film studios. Perhaps she will bring that angel to attract people to the movies with all due care. For now it is unknown if the third part is planned, but everything will depend on the connection that the sequel achieves with the public, both in theaters and in its digital run.

Like a 90s action movie couple, the story of Hard to Care 2 returns with the deadly duo: bodyguard Michael Bryce (Reynolds) and hitman Darius Kincaid (Jackson). The two are forced to work together on a new mission, only now there is a third piece joining in and that is international con artist Sonia Kincaid (Hayek), Darius’s wife. The three find themselves embroiled in a global plot, while a vengeful and powerful madman (Antonio Banderas) will make them see their luck.

Ryan Reynolds, Salma Hayek and Samuel L. Jackson repeat their roles in Hard to care 2, only with the small twist that the Mexican has a stellar role unlike the previous installment. They are joined by Antonio Banderas, Morgan Freeman, Tom Hopper and Richard E. Grant. On the other hand, Patrick Hughes returns as director, as does Tom O’Connor in the script. Gary Oldman had a starring role in the past film as Vladislav Dukhovich, but is returning for the sequel.
